The Captor's Desk

Pick five moves. Then find out that all five have already been run — by name, with receipts — and whose desk you were sitting at.

Loading the record…

Why you are given the moves rather than shown them

Because the argument of this whole project is that the method is indifferent to the cause, and there is no way to feel that from the outside. Read a list of capture techniques attributed to people you already dislike and you learn nothing; you simply file it under what you expected. Assemble the same list yourself, from a blank budget, and then watch it match two organisations that despise each other — that is the argument arriving rather than being asserted.

Every move on offer is a documented historical fact with a citation. Nothing here is a technique being taught; each card exists because somebody was caught doing it and the receipt survives. A marker with no receipt behind it is shown greyed out and explicitly labelled as never observed, not quietly dropped.

What the tool refuses to do

It will not pretend an absence is an innocence. 74 of the 91 markers have no record against any institution. That does not mean nobody runs them; it means nobody has been caught, and those two states are indistinguishable from here. The cards say so.

It will not flatten the evidence. FACT-tier and ATTRIBUTED records are counted separately, and the FACT-only toggle visibly lowers your match scores. That direction is the honest one: a weaker evidentiary bar always produces a stronger-looking result, and you should be able to watch that happen.

It will not report a bare percentage. Every overlap is a fraction with its denominator, because two moves out of three and forty out of sixty are not the same claim.

It will not call a match a verdict. Matching an institution means your five chosen moves overlap with what that institution has been caught doing. It says nothing about you, and the institution’s total is not a judgement on it either — several of the highest scorers are there partly because they document themselves unusually well, and the ones that caught themselves are counted separately for exactly that reason.
